News : Sitel Closing Asheville Location
Asheville, OH, USA, Jan 21, 2016 -- Sitel is closing its Asheville call center, a move that will affect about 250 workers, according to a news release from the company.
"As a long-time employer in the Asheville business community for a number of years, the decision to close our site does not come easily," Sean Erickson, EVP, chief marketing and chief infrastructure officer, said in the release. "The closure is due to the changing business needs of our clients and is in no way reflective of the quality of customer care provided by our Asheville associates."
The company says it is "working to assist these individuals in finding new employment at other businesses in the Asheville area or at other Sitel locations."
Workers at the Hendersonville Road location were told they will have jobs at least through May 30 and "perhaps beyond." The center will close as of July 30.

Workers at the Asheville location provide "inbound customer service support for clients."
According to the news release, the work being done at the Asheville location will move to Sitel’s Knoxville location. Sitel is offering jobs to qualified workers who want to transfer to the Knoxville center.
The company announced just last month it was adding 200 new permanent, full-time jobs at its Albuquerque, New Mexico location.
