Albuquerque, NM, USA, March, 2019 -- Sitel is closing its call center in Albuquerque this year.
Employees were notified about the closure last Wednesday.

The announcement came as a surprise to employees and the City of Albuquerque.
"We will support those employees impacted in any way that we can," said Synthia Jaramillo, economic director for the City of Albuquerque.
Many Sitel employees are wondering what they will do next.
"I'm a college student I have to pay for my car," said Alex Madrano.
Sitel officials would not give specifics about why the company decided to close its Albuquerque call center, only saying it was "a business decision."
Some former employees were sad to hear about people losing their jobs, but they weren't sad to see the company go.
"It was just so bad that I would rather be homeless than work here," said a former employee who wanted to remain anonymous.
However, other people had the opposite to say about the company.
"I personally love working here," said a man who works at Sitel.
