News : St. Joseph Hospital Works With Amcom Software to Improve Communications
MINNEAPOLIS, Oct 22, 2013 -- Amcom Software, Inc. announces that St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Calif., is adding several Amcom solutions to help physicians and other clinicians reach one another quickly to coordinate patient care. The hospital is integrating Amcom's online staff directory and on-call scheduling solutions with the latest version of the Amcom operator console. They are also deploying Mobile Connect, Powered by Amcom(TM) to provide HIPAA-compliant texting for staff.
"We're excited to have so many elements of our critical communications working together. Many of our physicians are demanding the ability to message to smartphones, and we address this with Amcom's secure texting app," said Asif Khattak, Director, EVS, PBX and Resource Center, St. Joseph Hospital. "Staff will also be able to look up contact information, and departments can update on-call schedules themselves without inefficient paper schedules and back-and-forth emails. All of these improvements will translate into better care for patients because staff can exchange information more easily."
"St. Joseph Hospital is a great example of how an Amcom total solution is helping hospitals streamline workflows, both in the call center and in clinical environments. We're proud to be their partner for interlocking the various aspects of their communications," said Colin Balmforth, President, Amcom Software. "More and more hospitals see the value of having secure texting and on-call scheduling as an extension of their staff directory and call center solutions. It simply makes sense to have all of these capabilities working in lock step instead of limiting their potential by keeping them separate."
