News : Sun Media’s Call Centre Moving Offshore
June 23, 2014 -- Sun Media’s call centre, in service for nearly five years at the Bayside Centre in downtown Sarnia, has closed and the company has moved operations offshore.
The change was abruptly made late last week.
Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley is disappointed with the loss of up to 80 jobs.
Bradley is hopeful there might be employment for the displaced workers at the new Atelka call centre at the UWO Research Park.
He says there are no immediate plans to fill the vacant space with the potential sale of the Bayside Centre pending.
