News : Connexion2 Creates New Jobs
Sheffield, UK, May 14, 2015 -- A company which manufactures unique security devices is expanding to create about 15 jobs.
Dinnington-based Connexion2, which makes alarm badges for people who usually work alone, is moving into new premises near Meadowhall and is rebranding itself SoloProtect,
The firm currently employs 45 staff but this is expected to swell to 60 when they move into their new base in September.
Craig Swallow, managing director, said: "Naturally, this is a hugely exciting project. One that enables us to work even more closely with our customers, giving greater control to deliver tailored solutions to clients.
"While a move like this is naturally a boost for all of our staff, our key focus remains on facilitating a great lone worker service and fulfilling our customer promise."
The company was formed in 2003 and manufactures the Identicom Lone Worker Device.
The unique ID badge has a discreet button on the back, which the worker wearing it can press if they are in danger.
This activates a microphone which a member of staff can listen to at a call centre.
They can then ring the person’s employer or emergency services if they hear that the situation is escalating.
The firm used to rely on two private companies to provide the call centre facility but they will be taking this in-house at the new premises.
