News : Swansea Motor insurer ERS Calls for Jobseekers
Swansea, Wales, May 6, 2015 -- Jobseekers are being invited to attend a Swansea-based operations centre that is looking to create 170 positions in the city.
UK motor insurer ERS is hosting an open day in Llansamlet this Saturday to discuss current career opportunities and showcase its building and operations.
Vacancies will be suitable for school leavers, graduates and people with experienced roles from a range of disciplines including finance, IT, HR, facilities, claims, and underwriting.
Attendees will also be invited to ask the company questions and are encouraged to take their CV so the ERS team can contact them after the event about career opportunities.
Sharon Jones, head of operations at ERS, said: "The idea is to meet a lot of great people on the day who are looking for a job, or maybe leaving university soon and they have a degree in finance, IT, and law and maybe they do not know where they want to work yet."
She added there was an opportunity for all company team members to develop their futures through training courses and by learning new skills working in other departments.
ERS, which already employs around 230 staff at Cardigan House on Pheonix Way, recently unveiled plans to create at least 168 roles in the city taking its total workforce to almost 400.
The call centre has begun its recruitment drive and will uproot to Crucible Park, Swansea Vale from its current location on Phoenix Way.
ERS will rent the 33,000 sq ft office with employees moving to the new site from July.
Speaking to Jobs Post last month, ERS chief operating officer Tim Yorke said it was an "exciting opportunity" for jobseekers in the region.
"Expanding our footprint in Swansea is a crucial step we need to take as part of the overall operational simplification of the business," he said.
"The new roles in Swansea span the whole insurance business cycle and provide a really exciting opportunity for people who are looking for a challenging career in the area.
"Moving to the new premises at Crucible Park will mark the start of the next phase in ERS's development plan and I am delighted that we can grow our presence as an employer of choice in the area."
It is also expanding its London operation to provide more space to house all its underwriters and improve access for brokers, which in turn will enable the planned growth in the business.
The plan requires consolidation from three to two offices which will result in ERS closing its Brentwood office.
The company added the decision has involved an extensive review of ERS's operating model and organisational structure.
