News : Swiss Colony Call Center to Close
Clinton, IA, USA, March 3, 2016 -- The Swiss Colony Clinton Contact Center will be closing in October.
The contact center, a division of SC Data Center, Inc., told employees of their decision to close the location at 1801 South 21st Street in Clinton.
"The decision to close the Clinton Contact Center was based on a number of factors, including the continuing challenges to recruit with the Clinton market and the growth and expansion of our Home Agent Program," the company stated in their letter.
Later on the letter the company said they would make every effort to offer employment to current employees as part of the home agent program, the affiliated DM Services Inc. in Clinton, or at the Colony Brands Distribution center in Clinton.
The company has been open in Clinton for 22 years.
Tim Wolff, Director of Human Resources, said the company will be meeting with employees starting this week to identify the issues.
"The hope is to in the next several weeks to find placement for the employees," Wolff said.

Wolff also said employees have the opportunity to switch over to being home agents. Wolff said the job of a home agent would be the same as their job was at the call center.
"Right now we have 309 part time employees, seven full time and our goal is to provide opportunities for all persons with other jobs at Swiss Colony," Wolff said.
Wolff said the company plans to hold opens houses at their affiliate locations so each employee can look into their employment options.
"We aren't closing until October so we have time for people to explore other opportunities," said Wolff.
