"The partnership presents an opportunity to help establish Jamaica's technology sector as a strong independent force economically and socially, while growing our company home at home and abroad. Together, we will be able to reach higher customer acquisition at scale, leading to continued brand growth for all our clients," said Centerfield's co-president and co-founder, Jason Cohen, in a release regarding the acquisition of Elephant Group.
Elephant is a direct marketing and telesales company started in February 2013. It offers call centre services for various TV, Internet, phone and security firms, including AT&T, Comcast and Time Warner Cable, its new owner said. The company is managed by Vice-President Marvin Tulloch.
Tulloch said he was unable to provide an update on Centerfield's plan for the Jamaican company. The company opened for business at the Montego Bay Free Zone with 100 employees four years ago.
Elephant was founded in 1997 by Benny Aboud, with headquarters in Florida. Aboud operated another call centre in New Jersey.
