News : Tech Projects Aims to Advance ‘Made-in-Qatar’ Apps, Software

#contactcenterworld

Doha, Qatar, Dec 21, 2021 -- ICT consultant and service provider Tech Projects, a Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) registered company, aims to contribute to the growing ‘Made-in-Qatar’ movement particularly in the Applications and Software development sectors in the country.

The Company, which started its operations in Qatar during the start of the pandemic year, already has branches in Finland and Pakistan.

In an interview with The Peninsula, Waseem S. Gondal (pictured), Director of Tech Projects, said that aside from developing new Apps and Software, the Company is also planning to bring international IT projects in Qatar, as well as establish an in-bound Call Centre (as BPO) here that will serve clients in the US and Europe for mainly IT-support and IT-help desks, which is under the pipeline for getting approvals from the government sector "Qatar’s market is growing on a very fast pace. Right from the simplest App to a comprehensive IT solution, no company can succeed without adopting a proper information technology platform. Majority of the companies here understand the need for technology. E-commerce companies such as food delivery and other day-to-day services are progressing day-by-day. Companies have to adopt online platform, which has become a huge revenue stream for many IT firms," said Gondal.
He said Tech Projects provides consultancy to companies for the selection of future technology, selection of software, hardware, and other digital infrastructure. The Company provides software development services, and has also developed its own Applications such as comprehensive ERPs and other Apps.

"We have developed Applications for various industries including Banking and Insurance, Manufacturing, and Retailing among others. Moreover, we are into Project Management consultancy as well, and we take any kind of Project Management outsourcing. We have the expertise in HR consultancy, and we arrange interviews to hire professional, skilled, and semi-skilled workers," Gondal said.

In parallel with its consultancy services, Tech Projects has also been working on new Business Apps. Two of its most recent projects include a Car Rental Management System which can be used by car rental companies and government agencies; while the other App which will rival Uber and Careem was designed to benefit passengers and drivers with additional features and promotional schemes.

Speaking about the latter, Gondal said: "Development for this App is almost finished. Further marketing and business model development need to be finalized. One of the main things currently in the pipeline is for us to be regularized under the Qatar corporate law. Very soon it will be over and we will be able to implement our plan in 2022".

He added: "Also, we are going to bring our Software Development team here in Qatar so we can address the clients’ requirements more effectively and efficiently. Currently, we have the IT, HR, and Project Management services under one roof. So, with the addition of the Software House here, we will definitely be contributing to the digitalizationprogram ‘Made-in-Qatar’ Applications and Software. We are also planning to bring international IT projects in Qatar, as well as establish an in-bound Call Centre as a BPO here, which will serve clients in the US and Europe for mainly IT-support and IT-help desks".

According to Gondal, there are many trends that are currently saturating the digital and technology sectors in the Qatari market, and they are expected to continue post-pandemic. These include online shopping and fast deliveries, digital and contactless payments, remote work, distance learning, tele-health, and online entertainment. He added that shifting supply chain management to technology based supply chain - such as big data, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain - are also building a more resilient supply chain management system in Qatar.

Speaking about the various sectors that were quick to adapt to technology during the pandemic, he said: "The health sector, security and surveillance services, airports, and airlines among many others adopted advanced technology very quickly during the pandemic. Besides all these, I can still see in some places long queues of people or clients, places where plenty of paper work is still involved as a requirement. Such places need to be shifted into digital platforms or they can conduct a detailed study for automating all the heavy manual or physical paper work currently being done".

Gondal reiterated that Qatar’s vision to be a knowledge-based economy was also technology-based. "We are a committed player, and will for sure contribute to the Qatari economy. As we have learned from sports, like in a football match, all the players must keep on making the moves to make the goal. Not all moves turn into a goal, but one good move turns into a successful goal, and a number of goals will ultimately win the game. In the same way, Tech Projects will keep on honoring our commitments with the customers, and that will ultimately help us reach our goals".
