Paris, France and Madrid, Spain, Dec, 2018 -- Telefonica has sold its stake in call centre business CATsa to Comdata's Spanish subsidiary Digitex for an undisclosed amount, reports business daily Cinco Dias.
Under the terms of the deal, Digitex will take over nearly 700 employees at CATsa call centres in Malaga, Granada and Madrid but will keep Telefonica as its main client, said the report.
The agreement is part of Telefonica’s plan to divest non-strategic assets with a view to cutting down its debt pile and increasing its stock market value. The company is also reportedly discussing the potential sale of its data centre business and part of its fixed line network.
