News : Toll-free Numbers to Solve Power Plaints
Thane, Feb 14, 2014 -- The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has replaced 72 local complaint redressal centres with a sophisticated central consumer facility call centre to solve power complaints with faster response time.
The call centre has been launched at Bhandup divisional office to monitor all complaints within stipulated time for consumers in Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mulund and Bhandup area.
Two toll-free numbers have been provided to lodge complaints. Consumers can dial and register their complaints of any nature in Hindi, Marathi and English by registering their 12 digit consumer numbers.
"Within three minutes after the complaint time, local linemen and junior engineers will be intimated, who in turn will take necessary action to restore the supply in less than an hour. If the problem is not resolved within an hour's time, then the deputy executive engineer will be informed about the lapse," said an official.
Exceeding two hours the executive engineer will be pressed into service to rectify the case and update it to the high level monitoring mechanism called Daily Control Committee (DCC) and close the complaint. "If this does not happen, then the monitoring system will inform the chief engineer of the division to take stringent action," said a source.
