News : CM Helpline 181 Flooded With Calls
Bhopal, India August 8, 2014 -- The facility of CM Helpline 181 was launched by the state government, with the purpose of providing a platform to people to lodge complaints and procure information. The Helpline is being flooded by phone calls from even government officers making complaints which could not be addressed through this facility.
The phone calls are made to get encroachment removed. Some of the officers and employees have called to get salary increment. According to sources, a former IAS lodged a complaint on the Helpline to get a wall demolished. This officer insisted that the matter should be handed over to Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), despite of the fact that removal of encroachment comes under the purview of revenue department. When the matter was not handed over to BMC, the said former IAS officer lodged a complaint.
The Helpline is also witnessing calls from government officials complaining about not being transferred. They also express their resentment when their complaints are not registered. An employee working at the Helpline’s call centre said they got genuine complaints but sometimes they got cases in which complaints could not be registered and the person on the other side expressed his anger.
"Several complaints related to removal of encroachment are coming but they are subjudice and that is why their disposal through Helpline is not possible," he said.
A senior official of MPOnline said such types of complaints are coming as it is beginning of the launch of Helpline. He said condition would improve gradually.
