News : TriWest to Open Nashville Facility for Vets, Hire 250
Nashville, TN, USA, August 21, 2015 -- TriWest Healthcare Alliance announced plans to invest, and create 250 jobs by opening a Nashville facility to serve the health-care needs of thousands of veterans.
As a partner to the Department of Veterans Affairs, TriWest administers the VA’s Patient-Centered Community Care program and the Veterans Choice Program. The Nashville Operations Center will allow the company to keep up with a significant increase in health-care requests as more veterans become eligible for the VCP.
The Nashville Operations Center will help serve veterans in 28 states and will serve as a traditional call center. Key functions will include processing health-care authorizations approved by the VA, inbound and outbound telephone correspondence with veterans and health-care providers, as well as scheduling appointments by phone.
The company, with headquarters in Phoenix, says it chose to open an operations center in Nashville because of the city’s strong support of the VA’s Veterans Economic Communities Initiative, which aims to increase the number of education and employment opportunities for veterans and their families.
"We appreciate TriWest Healthcare Alliance’s decision to invest in Nashville and add 250 jobs here," Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said. "As the capital of the health-care sector in the U.S. and the center of innovative leadership in the industry, Nashville is the perfect place for TriWest to locate its operations. With more than 20 colleges and universities in the area and many veterans who are transitioning to the civilian workforce out of Fort Campbell and other military facilities, TriWest will find a deep and talented workforce here."
TriWest will fill a variety of positions in clinical and nonclinical roles, including patient services representatives, behavioral health-care coordinators, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, management and operations. The company hopes to attract as many veterans as possible to its workforce to serve fellow veterans.
