News : Twilio CEO Jeff Lawson Elected to the CTIA Board of Directors
San Francisco, CA, Sept 9, 2014 -- Twilio, the software and cloud-based communications platform company, announces that Jeff Lawson, CEO and co-founder of Twilio, has been elected to the Board of Directors of CTIA-The Wireless Association (CTIA) for 2015. CTIA is an international nonprofit organization that represents the wireless communications industry. The association advocates on behalf of its members at all levels of government. CTIA also coordinates the industry's voluntary efforts to provide consumers with a variety of choices and information regarding their wireless products and services.
"Being appointed to CTIA's Board of Directors is an honor. I am pleased to be working with highly respected leaders and provide guidance to ensure positive impact in the wireless industry," said Lawson. "I look forward to supporting upcoming initiatives that further disrupt the industry to improve customer experience and enable businesses to let go of old hardware-centric approaches that are holding them back."
Lawson has over 15 years of entrepreneurial experience. He has held several founding executive roles at Nine Start, Stubhub and Versity. In addition, Lawson was one of the original product managers for Amazon Web Services. Jeff identified the fundamental need for a communications platform that would enable developers and enterprises of all sizes to easily build the communications solutions that meet the specific needs of their business. In 2008, he launched Twilio.
