News : Two from Gujarat Held for Call Centre Fraud
Hyderabad, India, March 24, 2016 -- The Rein Bazar police arrested two key accused, including a B.Tech graduate, in Gujarat for duping customers on pretext of providing personal loans while collecting `50 lakh amount. Earlier, the police arrested 14 offenders in connection with the case.
South Zone DCP V Satyanarayana said key accused Ishan Pathak, resident of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, was arrested by Rein Bazar cops in Gujarat in a cheating case.
Police collected mail IDs of the accused, which were used in committing the offence to interact with Hyderabad call centre. They managed to get the IP addresses and through that they obtained the address of the accused. The accused was produced before the court in Bhavnagar.
Ishan confessed that through his friend he came in contact with one Sunil Lal Chandani, resident of Ahmadabad from whom he collected data of USA/UK loan customers. Sunil used to send the leads for `35 and same he used to sell to the call centre at Hyderabad. The call centre employees made calls to loan clients and informed them about loan approval asking them to pay one month advance repayment of sanctioned loan.
The accused Sunil Lal Chandani was arrested by the police.
