News : Unicorn Startup DocuSign Signs New VP of Customer Experience
San Francisco, CA, USA, July 24, 2015 -- DocuSign, the electronic signature company with a "unicorn" valuation, has hired Catherine Courage as its senior vice president of customer experience.
Courage, who has led customer experience teams at Citrix and Salesforce.com, is now focused on building teams to support experience and product design, she said. She will report to chief operating officer Gordon Payne.
"Customer experience is how products are sold today. Engineers want to see products. They want to demo them, touch them and try them. Part of my role involves taking a broad look at our products and how the customer experience could be improved," Courage told the Business Times.
Before joining San Francisco-based DocuSign, Courage held the same title at software firm Citrix for six years, where she was also the vice president of product design. Before that, she was the founding member of the experience team at Salesforce.com.
"Catherine is a longtime pioneer in leading organizations to successfully drive customer-focused innovation to create products and experiences that delight customers," said Payne. "Catherine’s leadership and vision around customer experience will ensure we bring best-in-class, user-focused DTM solutions to customers around the world."
"I’m excited to join a successful, yet growing company," Courage said. "The software industry is such a fast world — there’s no way of knowing what technology will be out three years from now. Building agile teams that can handle that kind of rapid change is what’s really exciting."
The Silicon Valley Business Journal has recognized Courage twice as one of 2011’s "40 under 40" and 2013’s "Influential Women." Currently she sits on the board of trustees for the California College of the Arts and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
