News : UP Government Releases Fund for 181 Helpline Staff

Lucknow, India, Sept 1, 2020 -- The state government released over Rs 6 crore to GVK EMRI — the agency running the 181 women helpline — to pay the salary dues of its employees.

The order issued in this regard says the company must pay the pending salaries of employees and submit a compliance report to the state government for the release of the second tranche of pending dues.

It may be noted that following the Union government’s guidelines on Universalisation of Women Helpline Scheme, the 181 helpline was being run by GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute).

In July, the state cabinet had decided to integrate the 181 women helpline with UP Police Helpline 112 for seamless functioning under the scheme.
