News : UP Transport Helpline Becomes 24x7
Meerut, India, Aug 24, 2015 -- The state transport department is all set to make its helpline number a 24*7 affair. The number, which for the last two years since its inception has been active from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, will now be available all the time for the citizens to file their complaints and register feedback about transport issues.
The information was circulated via a government order issued by Narved Singh, joint secretary in UP transport department. An amount of Rs10.08 lakh has been sanctioned to make this a success. The service will be available via a small three-seater call centre in Lucknow.
"I have been directed to inform you that to make the facilities related to transport even more convenient for the people of the state, the transport helpline has been made 24x7. An amount of Rs10.08 lakh has been sanctioned to run the call centre meant to cater to the general public with great efficiency," read the government order by Narved Singh, joint secretary in UP transport department.
The helpline number 1800-1800-151 can also be used to get various types of information, including online payment of tax of commercial vehicles.
"The complaints received by the call centre in Lucknow will be given to the various transport commissioners in the state who will further solve the cases," read the government order.
The helpline can also be used to get information regarding registration of the vehicle, license, and other related documents. In case of complaint, information regarding the officer handling the matter, his mobile number and possible date of resolution would be given through an SMS.
"The call centre in Lucknow has been set up with the help of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)," read the government order.
