News : Uttarakhand Government Launches Call Centre for Forest-related Complaints
Nainital, India, June 5, 2015 -- The Uttarakhand government launched 'Forest Friend' call centre at Ramnagar here for quick disposal of complaints pertaining to forest offences and conservation of the Himalayan state's bio-diversity.
State Forest minister Dinesh Agarwal said the service was initially launched only for Kumaun division but made operational for the entire state after its success in the region.

1142 complaints were received by the service centre out of which action was taken on 80 per cent cases in the initial phase, he said, adding the service will now address information and complaints from all over the state.
About 300 people can login for calls to the designated number, along with a website where complainants can register their concerns, he said.
