News : Verizon Adding 98 Jobs State-Wide in March
Columbia, SC, March 3, 2014 -- Verizon Wireless has seen in-state growth recently, and announces plans to hire 98 new employees across South Carolina in the month of March.
The company's plan will add 98 full-time employees for their customer service centers and retail outlets, and include benefits like health care coverage starting immediately with employment, and a company-matched 401K program, matching dollar-for-dollar employee contributions up to 6%.
To see what positions are available and begin the application process, visit the Verizon Careers website.
News 19 reached out to Verizon Wireless spokesperson Karen Schultz requesting area-specific position numbers, and though she was unable to provide specific numbers, she noted the Midlands has large Verizon retail operations, along with the Customer Service Call Center, so positions available in the Midlands are numerous.
Jerry Fountain, President of Verizon Wireless for the Carolinas & Tennessee region, said "We are committed to offering resources to all our employees that help them enjoy work and grow their careers, without sacrificing the things that are most important to their families."
In addition, a member of Verizon's Talent Acquisitions team, Michele Brookshire, says Vets should apply: "Veterans return home every day and have to begin new lives as civilians. Verizon recruiters are trained to understand the value of a candidate's military experience. We believe those sometimes intangible skills add value to our company, and help a veteran to thrive in a team environment like ours."
