Vadodara, India, Mar, 2022 -- In a recent meeting over complaints of erratic or contaminated water supply, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) decided to start a helpline to address complaints related to water supply in the city. The complaints will also have to be followed up by senior staffers of the civic body.
As the mercury rises, it is expected that such complaints will increase. The helpline has made its two numbers — 6359776345 and 02652481828 — operational from Tuesday and these will be available from 6am to 10pm.
To ensure that the complaints are attended to, executive engineer of each zone will have to hold meeting with water supply department officials to supervise work. Every Monday, the deputy municipal commissioner of each zone will hold meetings with the water supply department to look into the situation. An awareness drive against use of motors in taps during water supply timings will also be taken up.

To prevent contamination of water due to choked sewage lines and storm water drains, a drive to clean them is also on the cards. The civic body hopes to take care of waterborne diseases too by ensuring clean water supply.
The complaints that can be made to the helpline include those regarding low pressure, no water supply, drawing water from taps for VMC water supply using motors, contaminated water supply, leakage in water supply pipelines as well as those regarding wastage of water.
