News : Vodafone to Launch Connected TV Service in November
London, UK, March 13, 2015 -- Vodafone UK plans to launch pay TV services in November this year, using software from US company Kaltura and an STB.
Vodafone plans to offer broadband for its TV service aimed at a premium market segment. The service will offer each member of the home a personal profile of favourite channels and programmes, integrating with Facebook to send recommendations to friends. Content will be stored online, for viewing on multiple TVs and mobile devices.
Vodafone plans to open an office in Hammersmith, London, to be its TV headquarters in an area where are also based the BBC, Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk. Vodafone will also open a Glasgow call centre to handle broadband and TV customer queries. It is reportedly already recruiting staff ahead of launch in June. It is looking for call centre workers, TV product development managers, and content acquisition and promotion specialists.
