News : Vodafone’s Hobart-based Customer Centre Opened
Tasmania, Australia, March 13, 2015 -- Vodafone has announced ‘a boost for Australian jobs and Australian customer service’ with its new customer care centre officially opened in Hobart this morning.
Australia’s Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, Tasmania’s Premier, Will Hodgman and Vodafone CEO, Inaki Berroeta have this morning opened Vodafone’s new customer care centre in Hobart, the capital of the Australian island state of Tasmania.

iTWire previously reported in August 2014 that construction had commenced, with the build part of the centre reported to be set for completion by December 2014, and the centre to have become ‘fully operational’ by mid 2015.
Vodafone now says that by the end of the year, more than a thousand staff will be based at the call centre, with all staff from the company’s other customer care centre in the Hobart suburb of Kingston beginning to relocate in coming months.
