News : Volunteers Needed IN Wirral, U.K.
Wirral, UK, March 23, 2015 - Wirral Citizens' Advice Bureau has launched a recruitment campaign for volunteers to help with the daily running of its telephone advice service.
Since its introduction in April last, the adviceline has been used by thousands of Wirral residents, dealing with issues as varied as bailiffs, divorce, benefits, consumer issues and rent arrears.
The service is staffed by a team of dedicated volunteers, who receive ongoing training and support to assist them in dealing with queries from clients.
Among the current volunteers is John, who has volunteered for a year. He said: "I was a bit daunted at first by the wide range of issues the CAB deals with, but the support I have received and the training you get as you go along really ensures you pick it up quickly.
"Now I look forward to coming in each week and helping people who are facing some really tricky issues in their lives".
The CAB has expanded its call centre to 10 positions, and is now looking to recruit additional volunteers to fill those places throughout the week.
Currently the service is provided from Tuesday to Thursday, but with sufficient numbers it is hoped to expand the service to five-day working in the near future.
