News : Voxpro Files Plans to Expand Athens Offices
Athens, GA, USA, Dec 28, 2016 -- Voxpro, the Cork, Ireland-based call center firm that opened its U.S. East Coast office earlier this year at 1 Press Place in downtown Athens, has filed plans for expanding the space it occupies in the building.
Just four months after the company began setting up shop on the street-level floor at 1 Press Place, amid announcements that it would employ 500 people in Athens by 2020 and invest in establishing a Center of Excellence in its downtown offices, Voxpro has filed plans to renovate an additional 16,500 square feet at 1 Press Place to accommodate those plans.

According to information from the Athens-Clarke County Planning Department, the renovations will include electrical, mechanical, planning and structural work at 1 Press Place. More specifically, the plans show that Voxpro plans to renovate one office suite on the street-level floor, and two suites on the floor above.
Plans show the street-level floor renovations will include additional workspace, a training room, a manager’s office and a kitchenette and dining area. Renovations on the upper floor will also add more workspace, along with a conference room, a meeting room, a training room and lobby and reception areas.
Those plans have been assessed by various government departments and are scheduled for a formal review Thursday at the planning department. Under the county’s plans review process, officials look at commercial, industrial and multifamily residential building plans in advance of the issuance of any construction permits, and meet with contractors, architects and other interested parties to discuss any concerns they may have. The process helps ensure that construction-related permitting and inspection problems are held to a minimum.
Voxpro’s submittal of plans for renovation and expansion at 1 Press Place come shortly after the company opened a new office in Dublin, Ireland, creating 400 new jobs there, according to The Irish Times and other media outlets.
