Grampian, UK, February, 2017 -- NHS Grampian is warning people to be on their guard against bogus callers.
The alert comes after a number of people in Inverurie were contacted by a call centre.
It is understood those making the telephone calls were pretending to work for Inverurie Health Centre in order to sell goods.
Practice manager Eunice Ross has warned residents about the scam and said people should never give out personal details over the phone.
She said: "We would never ask our patients for their bank or credit card details over the phone. Please never give personal or banking details to anyone.
"If you are visited or called by an individual you don’t know or you aren’t expecting, please do not give any medical or financial information without checking their identity with the surgery, clinic or social work department."
The warning follows a similar incident last month, when concerns were raised in Banchory when someone posing as an NHS staff member was seen door knocking.
