News : Wayfair Customer Service Center to Bring Jobs to Bryan-College Station
Bryan, TX, USA, Feb 22, 2016 -- Online home decor retailer Wayfair has confirmed it will bring 450 jobs to the area with a new customer service center in Bryan opening March 25.
Signage for the 51,000 square-foot facility on University Drive went up this weekend. According to a press release from the company, Wayfair chose to expand its operations in Bryan based on the strong local talent pool, the community’s thriving business community and its proximity to Texas A&M.
In addition to a strong focus on customer service roles, Wayfair will also be hiring for inbound sales, human resources and IT positions.
Wayfair worked with Texas A&M, the Research Valley Partnership and Texas Workforce Soultions for nearly a year on the development of the new Bryan location. In January, the Bryan Business Council approved a grant to establish the business within the city.
As part of the agreement, Wayfair must enter into a minimum seven-year lease and invest in new personal property by April 30. The company must also create at least 300 new jobs and employ at least 300 new permanent employees with an annual payroll of at least $10.8 million on or before Dec. 31, 2018, during the term of the agreement.
