News : Westpac Brings Fingerprint Scanning to iPads
Sydney, Australia, April 7, 2015 -- Westpac customers are now able to use their fingerprint to securely sign in to Westpac's digital banking platform Westpac Live on their iPads.
The launch follows the introduction of fingerprint login for mobile banking on iPhones 5S and above, the Samsung Galaxy S5, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 earlier this year.
The Touch ID technology for Westpac customers is supported on all iPads running iOS 8, including the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

Gai McGrath, Westpac retail banking general manager, said the introduction to iPads adds further security and convenience for Westpac customers who choose to bank on their mobile devices.
"This pace of change has accelerated with banking on smartphones, which we have also helped lead. This is something that will not slow down, and we're excited to be at the forefront of yet another innovation, this time providing instant access to banking for customers via fingerprint sign in," she said.
