News : Yakima County Call Center Employees Have a New Place to Clock In
Union Gap, WA, July 9, 2015 -- Employees at Yakima County's 911 Call Center have a brand new place to clock in at.
The new resource center houses both the 911 Call Center and the County's Emergency Medical Services in downtown Union Gap.
The renovation was completed a little over a month ago; the new center now provides the 911 Call Center with some updated equipment and space.
They told us they went from only having enough room for nine dispatch and emergency call takers to now having space for 12 full time positions, 2 training positions, and room to add five more positions as the county grows.

They're also hoping that housing multiple emergency responders at the resource center will help to speed up response times.
"It'll speed up the response times for the pd officers, sheriff's office, ambulance services, and fire department so that's what we are looking at there," Call Center Supervisor Brad Coughenour.
They began construction back on the project last September and were able to move employees in at the end of May.
