Foothills Ranch, CA, USA, May 8, 2018 -- Ytel, a provider of communications software for businesses through a programmable API and contact center software, announced that its CEO and founder Nick Newsom received the 2018 Excellence in Executive Leadership Award from California State University Fullerton’s Center for Leadership.

The Center for Leadership partners with top leaders and businesses in Orange County to bring and encourage leadership knowledge, dialogue, and development in all aspects of the community through different initiatives, including the Leadership Scholars Program, Organizational Leadership MBA Concentration, Bringing Learning to Work, the Annual Awards Luncheon, and The Leadership Voice.

The Excellence in Executive Leadership award was presented during the Center for Leadership Awards Luncheon on May 4 at Hotel Irvine and recognized Orange County executives and businesses for their efforts in providing outstanding leadership.

"As much of an honor as it is to receive the Excellence in Leadership Award, the greatest reward for me was being invited to share my story and work with students who are a part of the Center for Leadership earlier this year," said Nick Newsom, CEO and founder of Ytel. "Sharing the lessons I’ve learned in regards to business, culture, collaboration and leadership with The Center for Leadership students and helping them become successful entrepreneurs really is the greatest honor I could possibly imagine."

Newsom was chosen to receive the award for his contributions to leadership in the category of Innovation. After being frustrated with traditional corporate culture, he created an employee-centric company culture designed to allow team members to thrive through an emphasis on work-life balance and collaboration from the executive level down.
