News : Z Energy Deal to Bring More Jobs to Wellington
Wellington, New Zealand, June 2, 2015 -- Z Energy chief executive Mike Bennetts says the company will stick with its head office in Wellington, as its eyes up a takeover of Caltex, now based in Auckland.
"Our decision right now is that Wellington is a good place to be," Bennetts said yesterday.
And it would be hard to say to 200 staff in Wellington that they should all go to a "high cost location like Auckland".
"Not everyone would want to move. There is both the cost and the emotional toll to do that. We are not going to go down that path," he said.

The total combined group would have about 400 staff, including just 100 from Caltex.
Some of the 40 Caltex jobs now being done in the Philippines would return to New Zealand. Some 20 of those financial processing staff would come back to Wellington. The jobs coming back would include call centre staff, administration and accounts payable and receivable.
