News : Zebra Technologies MPact Beacons Now Support Eddystone Protocol
Lincolnshire, IL, USA, June 6, 2016 -- Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a global provider of solutions and services that give enterprises real-time visibility into their operations, announced that through a collaboration with Google, the Zebra MPact beacon portfolio now supports the Eddystone™ protocol, an open beacon format that supports Android™ and iOS™ devices. Eddystone is a scalable Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon format that supports more effective mobile marketing engagement by allowing marketers to reach shoppers, guests and diners via the Chrome browser on any Android™ or iOS device.
By using Zebra MPact beacons, mobile marketers will now be able to easily engage with any customer who has a Chrome browser installed on their mobile phone running Android or iOS.
