News : Zulily Plans to Add 900 Jobs in Central Ohio
July 28, 2014 -- Zulily Inc. has chosen central Ohio for a call center that will bring 900 new jobs .
This morning, the Seattle-based online retailer was approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority for a 12-year tax credit in support of its expansion in central Ohio.
The company already has a distribution center in Obetz.
Zulily will add the jobs over the next three years. Initially, the call center will be at a temporary location in the Gahanna area while the company works on a long-term location.
"It’s a huge opportunity to create 900 jobs," said David Goodman, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency. "We are very excited about it."
The publicly-traded company declined comment because it is in a quiet period before a quarterly earning release.
The Tax Credit Authority also approved incentives to the following local projects:
* Basecraft, a Downtown marketing firm, will add 30 jobs to its current staff of five and make $100,000 worth of improvements to its offices.
* Goken America, a Dublin engineering firm, will add 15 jobs and move to a larger location in Dublin.
* MPW Industrial Services, located in Union Township in Licking County, will add 25 jobs and spend to expand its building. The company describes itself as a provider of " technology-based industrial cleaning, facility management, water purification and container management services."
