Industry Research : Headset Brand Expects Boost from BPO Sector
Headset maker GN Netcom Pte. Ltd., is looking to ride the wave of continued growth in the call center industry along with opportunities in other sectors, a ranking official said.
"There is still growth in the BPO (business process outsourcing) sector and we want to capture a higher growth in market share, probably an additional 5-10%," Larsen G. Sandoval, country manager of the firm behind the Jabra headset purveyor, said.
The Business Process Association of the Philippines earlier projected a 20% revenue growth for the BPO industry this year to $14 million from $11 million in 2011.
Mr. Sandoval said the company is banking on increasing demand for "unified communications," which said to integrate technologies such as voice, e-mail and instant messaging and facilitates enhanced productivity, streamlining the way people communicate.
Mr. Sandoval said that the company is also expecting to increase its revenues as it plans to penetrate other industries aside from the BPO.
"We are looking at 15% growth in revenues from the BPO [industry]. We would also like to grow in other industries," he said.
"The BPO business is strong, and we continue to enjoy the market, but we are also looking into the unified communications space in other industries as a contributor to the overall business growth," he said.
Ralph W. Ede, GN Netcom’s managing director for South Asia, cited industries such as banking and finance, manufacturing, and the government as possible market opportunities.

"In the finance, banking and insurance sector, these are the guys that have branch networks in the country and they have the greatest need to connect to each other through voice communication," he said.
"There is also growth in manufacturing sector because they have plants and they are looking to connect those plants in the county," he added.
The tourism and hospitality industry, according to Mr. Ede, are also being targeted.
