Industry Research : Most Call Centre Workers Unhappy with their Work - Survey
The vast majority of call centre workers in Germany are unhappy with their work, according to a new survey by trade union Verdi ahead of the Call Center World trade fair in Berlin. Verdi surveyed 13 call centres with a total of 7,500 employees.
A total of 83 percent of respondents complained about bad working conditions, more than 88 percent complained about a lack of recognition for their work, 78.4 percent feel 'empty and burnt out', and 68.7 percent often feel that their work situation is frustrating. More than 82 percent of respondents can envisage changing jobs, and 75.9 percent feel that wages are not sufficient, with many needing a second job to survive.
